The TEDxStockholm Team
The start
A TEDx event enriches and inspires, so that is why we started from scratch and held a pre-TEDxStockholm event on 24th April 2009.
Our guests were united by the same vision: to make the launch of TEDxStockholm a success.
Our twenty guests helped us come up with ideas about future TEDxStockholm events at the headquarters of The Interesting Organization (interesting.org).
The next step
Next up was our first event. And what better theme than inspiration?
Our aim was to invite inspirational guests to an exciting venue to watch passionate talks and discuss inspiration. To this end, 40 people met with the same goal: to discuss inspiration live with the help of some of the best TED Talks and some of the best speakers in Sweden.
The next TEDxStockholm
The next TEDxStockholm took place on 19th September 2009 at IVA Konferens (Grev Turegatan 16) – and was the first open TEDx event ever to be held in Sweden.
We had a great line up on stage:
TEDster Hans Rosling, designer Alexander Lervik, scientist Johan Rockström, and artists Malou Bergman, Alvaro Campo, Mattias Larson & Nadja Ekman – to name only a few!
We also had some wonderful, inspiring TEDTalks on video.
The guest list was packed with some of the most creative and inspiring people in Sweden. Hand picked from 800 applications.
TEDXSTOCKHOLM - WHAT’S NEXT?
Come and participate – and make TEDxStockholm the biggest TEDX event in the world!
We would like to find out just how many TEDx events can take place in the Stockholm region during the space of one week (17 April – 24 April)!

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
We are called TEDxStockholm, where x=independently organized TED event. At TEDxStockholm events, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
